Matthew Schwartz is an attorney at the law firm of Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. and practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation. Mr. Schwartz represents financial institutions, registered representatives and investment advisors in securities disputes, and in regulatory investigations and examinations. He also appears on behalf of real estate brokers, title agents and insurance agents, attorneys and other professionals in malpractice suits; and defends claims involving officers and directors of homeowner and community associations.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Mr. Schwartz earned his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University. Before joining Cole, Scott and Kissane, Mr. Schwartz worked as Government Affairs Counsel to the Financial Services Institute (“FSI”), a Washington, D.C. based financial services lobbying association; corporate counsel to TransAmerica/AEGON, an international financial services firm; and as a staff attorney for the National Association of Securities Dealers (n/k/a/ FINRA) Office of Dispute Resolution. Mr. Schwartz is a FINRA arbitrator and Co-Chairman of the Tampa Bay Securities Compliance Group.
